I’ve never thought about the social stigma for kids in foster care. In my school years, I wasn’t aware of anyone in that situation, though surely there were some. The cruelty of your peers is astonishing, especially your best friend. Middle school sucks! Thank you, as always, for sharing your experience. It’s so important to tell these stories, and speak for those who won’t ever tell them. ♥️
Thanks, Liz. I definitely felt pushed into a role that I’m unsure I would’ve chosen otherwise . . . but that’s middle school either way, eh? I am also glad to read what you’re sharing on your ‘stack, too, and I hope you have a fulfilling winter season (however you decide to spend it).
I gotta say, I love that my extravagant choice to celebrate walking out of school was a VANILLA milkshake.
I love how you sheltered yourself 🙂beautiful writing 😘

“Trouble tasted good. Real good.” Love this! And your writing.
Thanks, Colleen. I enjoyed yours, too!
